The Cancer Society of The Bahamas Receives $10k from Colina

Insurer Continues Long-standing Partnership

Nassau, The Bahamas, May 1, 2023 – Colina Insurance Limited (Colina) bolstered its long-standing partnership with the Cancer Society of The Bahamas through a ten thousand dollar investment, serving as Presenting Sponsor of the Annual Charity Golf Tournament earlier this year.

“We are delighted to make this presentation to The Cancer Society,” said Maxine V. Seymour, Director, Corporate Communications, Colina. “Colina is committed to the health and wellness of people in The Bahamas and we recognize the impact of cancer on many families who require critical care and related support for their loved ones.”

Cancer Awareness Month is commemorated each May. The Cancer Society hosted a ball during the month and, at the start of the year, the organization held its Fourth Annual Golf Tournament at the Royal Blue Golf Course at Baha Mar Resort. Both are key fundraisers for the Society, helping to raise funds for ongoing efforts.

“With cancer cases being diagnosed every day and the need for more screening, it is critical to have the resources necessary to assist to the greatest extent possible,” said Katherine Elza, Co-Chair, Cancer Society of The Bahamas’ Annual Charity Golf Tournament.

The Cancer Society assists patients in a variety of ways including financial support for much needed testing services. The organization also provides assistance for Family Island patients who struggle with travelling expenses.
