The Bahamas Crisis Centre Receives $10,000 from Colina
Nassau, The Bahamas, March 7,2025 – Colina Insurance Limited’s deep commitment to the empowerment and protection of women and children was put into action by its donation of $10,000 to The Bahamas Crisis Centre. The contribution underscores Colina’s dedication to social responsibility and its ongoing efforts to support causes that foster safety and advocacy for women and children within the community.
“The Bahamas Crisis Centre provides a lifeline to individuals facing domestic violence and other forms of abuse,” said Maxine V. Seymour, Director of Corporate Communications at Colina. “As an organization that values the well-being of our community, we are honoured to support the Centre’s vital work in providing resources, protection, and hope to those in need.”
The Bahamas Crisis Centre has been a pillar of support for survivors of domestic violence, offering counseling, education, and advocacy for over 40 years. The Centre also works tirelessly to educate the public on the importance of violence prevention and legal protection for victims.
“Domestic violence can lead to homelessness. We, as women, must come together and solve the crisis of homelessness,” said Cleopatra Christie, Administrator at The Bahamas Crisis Centre. “Some women cannot afford legal representation, so they are forced to remain in unsafe conditions.”
Christie also expressed her heartfelt gratitude for Colina’s generous donation, highlighting how it enhances their capacity to support the most vulnerable members of society.
“We provide a glimmer of hope for women, and we can only do this with the corporate help of organizations like Colina,” said Christie. “Saying thank you is not enough, we are truly grateful.”
Colina will continue to pledge its support to enhancing the well-being of Bahamians through dedicated philanthropy and community engagement. In addition to hosting meetings for The Bahamas Crisis Centre at its J. Whitney Pinder Building on Collins Avenue, Colina is constantly exploring new ways to offer aid. The company actively champions initiatives that protect and empower women and children, ensuring they have access to vital resources needed to rebuild their lives and thrive.
