Team Colina Attends Inaugural Women in Insurance Leadership Conference

Nassau, The Bahamas, February 21, 2025– Women leaders in the insurance industry gathered for the inaugural Women in Insurance 2025 Leadership Conference, hosted by the Insurance Commission of The Bahamas. The event brought together professionals from across the sector to engage in meaningful discussions about career advancement, workplace wellness, and the evolving role of women in the industry.

Attendees explored critical topics such as ‘Breaking the Glass Ceiling’, ‘Breaking Barriers Advancing Women’, ‘Wellness in the Workplace’, ‘Value of Insurance’, and ‘People Before Policies’. Among the distinguished panellists were Colina’s own Sapna Chatlani, Vice President of Group and Health Benefits, and Sherelle Johnson, Assistant Vice President of Group and Health.

Chatlani participated in the ‘Breaking the Glass Ceiling’ discussion, emphasizing the importance of mentorship and openness among women in the industry. “Supporting other women means being vulnerable about your own experiences,” said Chatlani. “By sharing our challenges and triumphs, we create pathways for the next generation of female leaders.”

Johnson, who contributed to the ‘Wellness in the Workplace’ panel, highlighted the role of self-care in maintaining professional success. “Exercise is essential for managing the stresses of the day,” said Johnson. “Prioritizing wellness helps us perform at our best, both in and out of the office.”

Attendees had the opportunity to network, exchange ideas, and celebrate achievements, with exciting prizes awarded throughout the event, which was held at the scenic Sapodilla Estate. The day served as a powerful platform for fostering professional growth, encouraging dialogue, and reinforcing the need for continued progress in gender equity within the insurance sector.
