Girl Guides Receives Building Fund Donation
Colina Contributes to New HeadquartersNassau, The Bahamas, November 8, 2019 – The Bahamas Girl Guides Association (BGGA) is building a new headquarters, with help from Colina. The Insurer presented a cheque to representatives from the organization today as construction nears completion.
“Colina is committed to partnering with organizations that are focused on making a difference in our community, one individual at a time,” said Maxine Seymour, Director, Corporate Communications, Colina Insurance Limited. “As a former Brownie and Girl Guide, I can personally attest to the work of the Association and how it has impacted countless young girls in our country and around the world, helping to shape us into strong, disciplined women.”
The new building is located at BGGA’s site on West Bay Street and Marcus Bethel Drive. While Phase One has been completed, more donations are needed to complete Phase Two. Persons can log onto https://www.bgga.org/donate-to-us/ to give generously.

The mission of the organization is to provide opportunities for the development of girls and young women, to build self-esteem, to develop positive attitudes, and to become contributing citizens both Nationally and Internationally. Membership has grown to over 2,300 throughout New Providence and the Family Islands. The Association has its headquarters in the small (360 sq.ft.) building on the corner of West Bay Street and Marcus Bethel Drive. The organization has long outgrown the little building of more than 75 years old, which has been designated an historic site.
