Nassau, The Bahamas, February 2, 2022 – Colina Insurance Limited (Colina) is a Corporate Sponsor of the Junior Baseball League of Nassau’s (JBLN) 2021-22 season, with two teams – Colina Rays in the Coach-Pitch (ages 7-8) division and the Colina Crushers in the Girls Softball (under-21) division.

“Team Sports is an important component of health, wellness and overall youth development,” said Maxine V. Seymour, Director, Corporate Communications, Colina. “We are happy to partner with JBLN to provide a means by which young boys and girls can stay active by joining one of the two Colina teams or any of the other teams participating in the upcoming season.”

“Kudos to JBLN for its unwavering commitment to advancing the games of baseball and softball and providing access and training to young people in these disciplines,” said Seymour. “We wish them a fun and safe year and hope that the Colina Crushers and Colina Rays advance to the championship in their respective divisions.” 

The league has experienced several delays in starting its 2022 Season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

“The Corona Virus Pandemic has unfortunately impacted our organization and our baseball and softball families financially, socially and emotionally,” said Jodell Roberts, Board Member, JBLN.  “We deeply understand these challenges and are strategically making strides to bring our program back to the heart of our community, with the planned opening of our 2021-22 Baseball/Softball Season.”

Following implementation of strict health and safety protocols, JBLN started practice on Monday, January 31, 2022 and plans to officially open the season on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at the Field of Dreams Complex in Nassau East.
