Colina is a Presenting Sponsor of The Cancer Society Golf Tournament

Nassau, The Bahamas, November 6, 2021 – Colina Insurance Limited (Colina) is a Presenting Sponsor of the 3rd Annual Cancer Society Charity Golf Tournament.

“The Cancer Society is to be applauded for its commitment, consistency and compassion and we are humbled by this opportunity to partner with them to raise funds to assist patients,” said Maxine V. Seymour, Director, Corporate Communications, Colina.

“Cancer impacts families all across our Commonwealth and the Cancer Society is there to assist those who need it most, so I hope the golf tournament exceeds its targeted fundraising goal,” said Seymour.

This sponsorship is directly aligned with Colina’s commitment to the health and wellness of its communities.

“Between Hurricane Dorian and the COVID-19 pandemic, the Cancer Society has had two extra challenging years,” said Katherine Elza, Co-Chair, Golf Committee. “We housed patients for an extended period as many had no home to return to in the wake of Hurricane Dorian and the travel restrictions from the pandemic made it difficult and expensive for family island patients to travel back and forth to receive treatment.”

“Cancers continue to be diagnosed every day, forever altering a patient and their family’s lives, and it is crucial to have the resources necessary to assist to the greatest extent possible,” said Philip Andrews, Co-Chair, Golf Committee.

The Golf Tournament will be held at the Royal Blue Golf Course at Baha Mar Resort on Monday, January 10, 2022. Four teams comprising of eight golfers will represent Colina at the event. Health protocols will be enforced in addition, individuals are required to present negative COVID test in order to compete. Funds raised will go directly toward assistance programs and housing for cancer patients in need. Colina has injected more than ten thousand dollars in addition to providing prizes for category winners.
