Colina is a Platinum Sponsor of Geriatric Push-a-thon

Nassau, The Bahamas, April 20, 2023 – Colina is a Platinum Sponsor of the 12th Annual Geriatric Push/Walkathon.

The event focuses on ‘pushing’ the importance of the seniors in our community and celebrating healthy aging as seniors are still able to lead healthy, productive lives with proper care. Support of the Push/Walkathon is directly aligned with Colina’s commitment to health and wellness.

“We were excited to support the seniors in our community,” said Maxine V. Seymour, Director, Corporate Communications, Colina. “The Geriatric Hospital at Sandilands plays a critical role in the care and well-being of seniors.”

“We would like to wish organizers every success with the event,” said Seymour. “My husband and I will personally be in attendance on June 3 pushing the seniors wherever they want to go, helping to give them a sense of independence and freedom!”

Deputy to the Governor General and Former Deputy Prime Minister Cynthia “Mother” Pratt is the event’s Patron. “Senior citizens ought to be remembered regularly, not on special occasions,” said Pratt.

“These are the people whose shoulders we are standing on, many of them can still give you wisdom and speak to you about life, and this nation,” said Pratt. “These are people who were once doctors, nurses, professionals. Many of them contributed to the building of this country.”

The event is for all individuals, particularly, those over 60 years old. Participants have the option to walk, push a wheelchair or be pushed, if wheelchair bound. The event will take place on Saturday, June 3, at 6:00 a.m. at the hospital grounds.
