CEO Highlights Innovation and Growth During Grand Bahama Visit

FREEPORT, Grand Bahama, February 12, 2025 – Emanuel Alexiou, CEO of Colina Insurance Limited (Colina), began his Grand Bahama visit with a town hall meeting at Colina General Insurance Agents & Brokers (CGIA) and Indigo Insurance. The session gave team members a chance to discuss Colina’s strategic direction, the role of technology in improving service delivery, and the importance of collaboration across divisions.

“As I start this visit to Grand Bahama, I wanted to begin the day with you because you are the heart of our operations in the general insurance space. While I will be meeting with key clients throughout the day, you are the real reason I am here,” Alexiou said.

Alexiou highlighted technology’s role in driving efficiency and improving customer satisfaction. “Technology is key to making our work more efficient and our clients’ lives more convenient. Innovation is not just a goal—it is our way forward. With your help, we continue to lead the charge in transforming how insurance is delivered in The Bahamas.”

He also discussed recent investments in CGIA and Indigo, including their relocation to new office spaces and updates to digital platforms that streamline operations. “These advancements are a direct reflection of our commitment to innovation and service excellence,” Alexiou noted. “By automating tasks, we free up time for our employees and agents to focus on delivering the best possible service.”

Turning to Colina’s strategy, Alexiou emphasized the company’s goal of expanding in the general insurance sector. “Colina Insurance Limited dominates the life and health insurance market, celebrating 125 years of leadership and legacy last year. Now, our focus is on strengthening our presence in general insurance, and we are counting on you to help us achieve that.”

Acknowledging the efforts of CGIA and Indigo employees, Alexiou stressed the value of teamwork. “We are not separate entities operating in silos. We are one company, one team, with a common goal. The success of CIL, CGIA, and Indigo is intertwined, and by working together, we can maximize opportunities, provide more comprehensive solutions for our clients, and drive sustainable growth.”

He encouraged employees to stay engaged and proactive. “You are the ones who engage with clients daily, understand their needs, and help us anticipate shifts in the industry. Your insights are invaluable in shaping our strategy and positioning Indigo and CGIA for continued success.”

Concluding his remarks, Alexiou recognized the broader impact of their work. “All of our businesses exist for one purpose—to improve the lives of others. The work we do has a profound effect on the communities we serve, offering security, stability, care and confidence to individuals and families across The Bahamas. Each of you plays an integral role in our collective success.”

The meeting underscored Colina’s commitment to innovation, collaboration, and continued excellence in the general insurance market.
