CEO Engages Freeport Team, Celebrates Achievements and Collaboration at Town Hall

FREEPORT, Grand Bahama, February 12, 2025 – Emanuel Alexiou, chief executive officer of Colina Insurance Limited (Colina), visited the company’s northern branch in Freeport for a long-anticipated town hall meeting. The event provided an opportunity for Alexiou to connect directly with team members, recognize outstanding achievements, and reaffirm Colina’s commitment to its employees and clients in Grand Bahama.

“I am so pleased to be here with you today. It is a long-overdue visit,” Alexiou said as he addressed the Freeport team. “You are the foundation of everything we do in Grand Bahama, and I want to personally thank you for your dedication and commitment.”

During his visit, Alexiou emphasized the importance of Colina’s presence in multiple islands across The Bahamas, acknowledging both the challenges and the value of serving communities beyond New Providence. He reassured the Freeport team that their contributions are integral to the company’s success. “Being headquartered in New Providence with offices here in Grand Bahama, as well as in Abaco and Exuma, presents challenges, but it does not lessen the value we place on each of you. That is why I made it a priority to visit in person—to listen, to connect and to reaffirm our shared mission.”

The town hall also served as an occasion to celebrate the outstanding performance of Colina’s Freeport team members. Alexiou extended special recognition to MDRT qualifiers Sandradee Henfield and Veoshe, as well as Shantelle Bain, who was named Genesis salesperson of the year. He also applauded Sandradee and Merranda for their success in branch recruiting and commended Veoshe for her exceptional performance as one of Colina’s top agents. “Your commitment, passion and hard work inspire us all, and we are incredibly proud of you,” he said.

In addition to celebrating achievements, Alexiou reinforced the importance of teamwork across all divisions of the company. “We are not separate entities operating in silos. We are one company, one team, with a common goal. The success of CIL, CGIA and Indigo is intertwined, and by working together, we can maximize opportunities, provide more comprehensive solutions for our clients and drive sustainable growth.”

He further acknowledged the administrative and customer service teams for their behind-the-scenes efforts that support Colina’s success in Grand Bahama. “Your collaboration and attention to detail help keep operations efficient, allowing the sales team to focus on delivering exceptional results. We truly appreciate all you do.”

Looking ahead, Alexiou expressed confidence in the continued growth and impact of the Freeport team. “You may not see me every day, but I want you to feel valued and appreciated because you are at the heart of this business operation. You have done a phenomenal job, and I have no doubt that together, we will continue to strengthen our presence in Grand Bahama and beyond.”

The town hall reaffirmed Colina’s commitment to its employees and the communities it serves, highlighting the company’s 125-year legacy of leadership, service and innovation in the insurance industry.
