Celebrating Excellence and Milestones at Awards Day 2025
Nassau, The Bahamas, January 24, 2025 – Excellence and dedication were honoured at this year’s Awards Day, where the Company celebrated employees reaching significant career anniversaries and recognised outstanding achievements, including the prestigious Employee of the Year award. From five to 35 years of service, the event highlighted the passion and loyalty that have driven the company’s success.

Among the honorees of Awards Day was Ashley Williams, an actuarial analyst named Employee of the Year. Williams was chosen from a distinguished group of Employees of the Quarter, including Latoya Williams, Terry Miller, Tanya Wemyss, Shanique Sweeting, Sandra Thomas, Cheryl Martins, Crystal Pintard, and Vernado Deal. Williams was recognized for her leadership and dedication. Following her manager’s resignation, she stepped up to temporarily supervise the department, ensuring operations remained seamless. Under her guidance, the team stayed on track with financial reporting responsibilities, a testament to her strong organizational skills and ability to rally resources effectively.
Colina’s five-year awardees included Alexis McPhee, Tracey Symonette, Madge Swann, Timaria Bain, Frank Ellis, Rishea Gibson, Raven Jones, Lataj Henfield, Shannon Smith, Kamara Thompson, Patricia Bain, Leah Coleby, and Maxine Seymour. These employees have demonstrated perseverance and passion in their respective roles, contributing to the company’s continued growth.
Celebrating 15 years of service were Racquel Adderley, Lavetta Gray, Nicoya Smith, Janice Terry Miller, Cassandra Adderley, O’Neil Stubbs, Patricia Bain, Simone Coakley, and Katie Glinton. Their long-standing dedication has been instrumental in strengthening Colina’s mission and values.
Tamara Ramsey and Anishka Culmer were recognised for two decades of service, marking 20 years of unwavering commitment to the company and its clients. Karen Sweeting was honoured for reaching an impressive 25-year milestone, celebrating her years of dedication and contributions to Colina’s legacy.
The milestone awards were topped with the recognition of Michelle Cartwright and Vernis Forbes, who have each dedicated 35 years to Colina. Their enduring commitment, professionalism, and invaluable expertise embody Colina’s slogan, ‘Confidence for Life,’ showcasing the trust and reliability they consistently deliver to clients.

The Awards Day celebration took place at the Baha Mar Convention Centre, bringing together employees from across the New Providence, Grand Bahama, Abaco and Exuma branches for a day of recognition and camaraderie.
