Faces: Colina’s 2025 Calendar Released
Nassau, The Bahamas, December 31, 2024– Colina is excited to unveil its latest calendar, “Faces,” by the world-renowned Allan Pachino Wallace of Design Strong Studios. Copies of the desk, wall and wall poster versions were presented to the featured artist today. The calendar celebrates the beauty and diversity of the countless faces encountered in everyday life in The Bahamas.
For years, Colina has partnered with local Bahamian photographers and artists to produce custom calendars as a community initiative. The indigenously themed calendars have taken an extensive look at various aspects of Bahamian society.
Colina’s calendars have focused on the magic of childhood, highlighted exceptional students and trendsetting members of the community, raised awareness of various causes and NGOs, and also featured delectable native dishes. Each calendar celebrates the rich tapestry of the nation’s history, culture, and people.
“Our calendars are known for showcasing not only the elements of the Bahamian lifestyle and culture, but we also aim to highlight the brilliant artists who capture them,” exclaimed Maxine V. Seymour, Director of Corporate Communications at Colina. “This year’s calendar celebrates the faces across our nation, from the young trumpeter on the front cover to the beautiful lady with the purple bougainvillaea hair, each face found embodies something truly special.”
“I consider it an incredible honour to be able to partner with Colina on this project,” shared the artist, Allan Pachino Wallace. “People now have the opportunity to own a piece and have a new look each month.”
Allan’s work has gained international acclaim with features in Time, Cosmopolitan, and on major networks like ESPN. He credits God as the source of his talent and purpose.
Allan continued, “Some of the works are in public spaces and others are in private collections so I’m really grateful for the opportunity to able to share it and have it in many homes around the country, as a gift from Colina.”
The calendar is a celebration of the faces that represent the story of The Bahamas, brought to life through Wallace’s artistry. Created over the span of five years, the pieces reflect his dedication to capturing the soul and spirit of the nation. Each illustration highlights The Bahamas’ resilience, beauty, and diversity, showcasing the power of art in storytelling.
Though he cross-referenced for many paintings one particular piece was inspired by a junkanoo practice at his alma mater, Woodcock Primary School. This piece ultimately became the front cover featuring a young boy playing the trumpet.
Through initiatives like the annual calendar, Colina reaffirms its commitment to sharing the rich Bahamian heritage with the wider community.
