Colina Supports Kidney AwarenessNassau, The Bahamas, March 7, 2025 – Kidney health is a serious issue in The Bahamas and Colina Insurance Limited is taking action. With a donation of $10,000 to The Bahamas Kidney Association (BKA), Colina has shown its support for BKA’s goal of raising awareness and promoting preventative measures against kidney disease.
“Our mission is to enhance public understanding of kidney function and promote preventive measures against kidney disease. We are committed to decreasing the prevalence of kidney failure in The Bahamas and enhancing the well-being of individuals impacted by kidney disease,” said Tamika Roberts, President of The Bahamas Kidney Association. “We are incredibly grateful to Colina for this generous contribution, which will help us continue our vital work in education, prevention, and patient support.”
BKA plays a critical role in advocating for kidney health, providing resources for patients, and fostering initiatives that encourage early detection and treatment. The donation from Colina will help fund outreach programs, educational campaigns, and assistance for individuals affected by kidney disease.
“At Colina, we believe in investing in initiatives that promote long-term wellness,” said Maxine V. Seymour, Director of Corporate Communications at Colina. “Kidney disease is a growing concern in our community, and through our partnership with The Bahamas Kidney Association, we aim to support awareness, prevention, and improved outcomes for those affected.”
Colina further demonstrated its commitment to kidney health by participating in The Bahamas Kidney Association Fun Run Walk held at Goodman’s Bay Beach on March 1, 2025. The company set up an informational booth at the event and had several team members take part in the walk, reinforcing the importance of awareness and preventive care in the fight against kidney disease. Colina proudly hosts the monthly meetings of BKA at their J Whitney Pinder Building on Collins Avenue.
